Thursday, April 13, Air Quality Alert Update

An Air Quality Alert has been issued in Louisville for Thursday, April 13. Ozone pollution and fine particle pollution are forecast to be at levels that are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

Due to smoke impacts from wildfires nearby in Kentucky, the air quality alert issued for today has been updated to include fine particle pollution (PM2.5).

Sensitive groups include children, older adults, those with lung disease, heart disease, and any other residents that are active outdoors. Those in these groups should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion, take more breaks, and do less intense activities. Others are not likely to be affected, but should also be aware of symptoms like coughing, shortness of breath, or other respiratory issues.
